Mint Green Blues - Empressive Stylz Boutique Review

Hello ladies (and gents),



This was a very exciting weekend for me. I love the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans and after a 2 year hiatus I FINALLY made it back this year!! I had a blast with my sister!! My favorite acts were Charlie Wilson, Trey Songz, and D'Angelo in that order. I wish I had bought tickets to see Mary J Blige the next night but I will hopefully see her next year. I originally said that I wasn't taking any pics on vacation  because I wanted to just relax but when I put on this dress that was gifted to be by Empressive Stylz Boutique for review I knew I just had to share it with you guys!!

This dress took me out of my comfort zone as I tend to stray away from bodycon dresses. I don't wear shapewear so the best thing for me is pencil skirts. Surprisingly tho, I loved the way this dress fit and how it looked on me. It was very cool and airy for one and I love the fit...it was fitted enough to make me feel sexy but loose enough that I was comfortable. I would suggest to order a size up from your normal size to prevent the "rising effect". I hate to see a woman tugging and pulling on  her dress trying to walk and I saw so many of my fellow curvy ladies at Essence tugging and pulling on dresses and skirts and looking so uncomfortable.


I initially paired this dress with a cobalt blue blazer and thought it looked tooo matchy matchy so I decided to highlight the cream blocks in the dress with a cream linen blazer that I thrifted last Winter but never wore. I chose to accessorize with some gold geometric earrings, mint green pumps that I bought recently ( WARNING: You will see these shoes a LOT as they are my new faves lollllll), and my fringe bag. My favorite part of this ensemble was the blazer because it brought everything together in my opinion and made the dress look more like my style....classic mixed with a little bit of trend.

She is like me with her shopping and has stuff forever before she rocks it....the romper she couldn't remember where she got it, the clutch is TJ Maxx (we have the same one), and the sequiin shoes are J Lo.......I think her cream, black, and gold was FIERCE!!
