Big Stripes Little Stripes - MLK Day OOTD

Good Morning my Curvy Divas,

I hope you are all enjoying this MLK Holiday today. This three day weekend was amazing for me. Today I went closet shopping and this is what I came up with....the dress is old and has a spot on the breast area so I was trying to figure out another way to wear it because I LOVE it SOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!!! I paired my look with some old Nine West Suede peep toes and this beautiful tribal looking stone necklace. I love ethnic looking jewelry so this was right up my alley. I purchased it in pink and red when I bought the necklace about a year ago. In Mississippi, it is sunny and pretty so I HAD to add some bright colored heels and jewelry to match my mood. Enjoy!!!!

Blazer and Dress F21+/ Necklace- Ebay/ Shoes- Nine West/ Eyeshadow- Coastal Scents Metal Mania

I hope this look showed u guys that not only can curvy girls rock horizontal stripes but we can rock an entirely striped look!!!! Most curvy women think stripes would make you look bigger but if you buy ur items to fit properly stripes can be very slimming for the plus size figure. If you are self conscious about your stomach area but love your hips and butt rock stripes on the bottom with a blazer in a fun color or darker color that makes you feel more comfy.

What do you think of my look?

Until Next Time,
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

  6. Cute!!!
You're correct with stripe's that they can be flattering and slimming; however big horizontal stripe's can make a curvy woman appear larger than what they are...
    So proportion is key!!

  7. thanx ladies!!!!

@ Tee so true that's why I suggested stripes on the bottom for curvier women who are top heavy.....the majority of my weight is on bottom so the big horizontal stripes work great for my proportion. Proportion is definitely key!

  8. This is tooooo cute. I love that dress on you.

I do tend to try and stray from stripes. I have a blazer similar to the one you're wearing and I've only worn it twice. But I am going to take your advice and try stripes on the bottom.

  29. I'm so glad that you made the comment about "clothes fitting properly." I beleive that as a curvy or plus size woman that you can pull off any look as long as your clothes fit! I love the mix of neon pink with the black and white, it gives your outfit a subtle but funky kick.
